When I started writing wedding articles one of the last things I thought I would write about was shoes. As a typical guy, I don't get the appeal of shoes and I’m quite happy with three styles; flip flops, joggers, and dress shoes. But this article is more about feet and their comfort in Bridal shoes.

Being a Brisbane Wedding DJ/MC, the first encounter I have with a Bride on her wedding day is just before the reception and often I pick up that something is wrong. She is walking slowly and a lot more timidly than she normally does with a cringe of pain with each step. Her gorgeous shiny brand new bridal shoes look fantastic but are not broken in and are a very different heel height to what she is used to. But the big problem is that those sore feet are going to impact her night; walking around socializing with her guest, busting a groove on the dance floor, and enjoying all that her wedding reception has to offer.

Sadly, I regularly see the Bride sitting down enjoying the music only going on the dance floor when dragged by her bridesmaids. But then other times I see a smart bride who has planned ahead and organized her dancing shoes. Bare feet

The bare feet are the go to move for the unprepared. Flip Flops

This one is a common occurrence; each female of the Wedding Party has a nice (normally white or pink) pair of flip flops ready to switch into at their seat. This is a nice, easy, and cheap option and will work fine if you have long dresses. But if you don’t want to be seen or photographed wearing Flip Flops at your wedding, then the next option is for you.

Flats

These are nice Sandals or Ballet Flats picked out that match the dress and still maintain an elegant look. I have seen some great shoes in this space, get creative and you will easily find something.
